Multiple Benefits of Wearing a Full Face Helmet

Helmets as we all know are a protective shell worn on head to safeguard it from injury in case of accidents. Broadly categorizing, helmets are of two types - full face helmets and half face/open face helmet. Full face helmets cover the entire skull of person while half face helmets protect only the head, both these distinctive features confuse the riders as to which helmet they should be buying. Some people find half face helmets comfortable than full face helmets others find full face helmets better than half face. But when it comes to safety, full face bike helmets are considered to have multiple benefits, let’s discuss them below:

No vulnerability

Full face helmets assure complete protection to your head and face in case of accidents only if they are worn correctly. The structure of such helmets is so, that it shield the head, jawline and chin from jerk because a minor damage to these parts of face can take a toll on person’s life or end up disfiguring his face. To keep your skull safe, it’s essential to wear a full face helmet properly of your size and shape.

Undisturbed vision

As we all know that helmets form a hard shell covering around head, which includes our eyes too. The clear transparent visor in in front of helmets provides clear and unobstructed vision to rider because a slight causality can prove lethal. While riding bike, our eyes come in contact with dust, insects and various other foreign bodies that can cause irritation in eyes leading to accidents, full face helmets act as a barrier against these particles and prevent mishaps.

Protection against sweat, wind and rain

India experiences extreme climate especially in plains, the summers here are sultry, marrow freezing winters and drenching monsoon, unlike car, bike riders are prone to ill effects of all these seasons. Helmets acts a partial safety object by protecting the riders head and face from heat and sunburn in summers, guarding the ears and head from chilly winter breeze that can cause headache and flu, also keeping the rider’s head and face dry in extreme monsoon. Open face helmet also provide safety from extreme weather but not as good as full face helmets can do.

Hence, when planning to buy bike helmet for yourself make sure that safety should be the first criterion followed by other necessary factors. Full face helmets are considered to be safer than half face helmets.
